The first time I went to Coney Island, it blew my mind. Taking the A train to the end of the line in Brooklyn is also taking journey into the past, arriving at one of New York’s last remaining landmarks of the last century. Every summer, New Yorkers flock to Coney Island to stroll the boardwalk, eat Nathans’ hot dogs, visit the sideshow, and ride on the legendary, treacherous wooden roller-coaster, the Cyclone. In this project, I try to capture the time-warp of Coney Island, and its combination of contemporary urban culture and the amusements of a lost time.
